What is a CNC Phase Converter?
TEMCo
CNC Phase Converters are purpose built phase converters designed to meet the rigorous requirements of the most demanding CNC machines. Both the General Purpose and CNC series provide true balanced three phase power with a sine wave offset of 120°.
The difference with the CNC series is its ability to maintain a voltage balance of ±5% on the output generated phases.

Application Sizing & Pricing
Selecting a phase converter that meets the requirements of your CNC equipment is simple and only takes a moment. First, you will need to know the power requirements of your equipment. This information can be found on the machines nameplate, which is usually located somewhere near the input power connections.
The specifications required are the input voltage, along with either the input amperage or input kW. If you intend to run multiple CNC machines, add the kW together, or the amperages together (as long as the voltages are equivalent). Now use the chart below to select the model that meets or exceed the input power requirement of your CNC equipment.

Models listed come standard with a NEMA 1 indoor type enclosure. NEMA 3R outdoor style available upon request. The above models are factory configured for 230v (except the 6500 series, which is 230/460v). Please call one of our
cnc phase converter specialists for 460v pricing, or if you require application sizing support.
CNC Phase Converters v. General Purpose
CNC Phase Converters produce a ±5% voltage balance on the generated output, whereas General Purpose Phase Converters produce a ±10% on the output.
Regardless of type, all TEMCo rotary phase converters produce a true three phase output and allow the attached three phase equipment to run at full HP, something not possible with all converter technologies.
Quiet Operation

All of our CNC Phase Converters have been designed with noise reduction in mind. All TEMCo converters, regardless of series or model, operate at 63dB @ 10ft. To put that into perspective, it's about as loud as normal conversation.
It is recommended that our CNC Phase Converters not be directly bolted to the floor. The proper way to mount CNC Phase Converters is with the use of a rubber vibration isolator. Not only will this reduce the noise generated from vibration, it will also prolong the life of the phase converter.

CNC Phase Converter Uses
TEMCo CNC Phase Converters are used globally for a variety of applications. From hobbyists in their garage, to industrial manufacturing plants in China,
TEMCo is the name to trust in CNC Phase Converters. Applications for CNC Phase Converters are endless. They can be used anywhere single phase is available and utility three phase power is not feasible or economical.
CNC Phase Converters are a cost effective way to convert single phase power to balanced three phase power.
Industry Leading Quality & Warranty
All TEMCo CNC Phase Converters use 100% copper windings. This provides the highest possible energy efficiency, as well as protection from the elements (such as corrosion). In addition to copper windings, all wiring is done using 100% high grade copper wire.
TEMCO is the
ONLY manufacturer to provide a 10 year warranty. We are able to offer this due to the fact that we use only high quality components to manufacture our CNC Phase Converters. This equates to a practically indefinite product life. When you buy a TEMCo CNC Phase Converter, know that you
are being backed by the industry leader. In addition to our long warranty, we provide free lifetime product application support for all of our units.
Maintenance
TEMCo CNC Phase Converters have been engineered to be virtually maintenance free. The only maintenance items are the generator bearings, which should be greased approximately every 10,000 hours of operation. Other then that, you can look forward to many trouble free years with your CNC Phase Converter.
